Voters Unite!

John Byrne, editor of The Raw Story has written a great article about a statistical analysis of exit polling conducted by a former MIT professor (Blue Lemur): "Odds of Bush gaining by 4 percent in all exit polling states 1 in 50,000."

A reader named Tampamom posted a link to VotersUnite! which is compiling a list of problems reported in the media about the 2004 general election. One of the latest entries concerns a problem with Diebold AccuVote-TS touch-screen systems in two Georgia counties (Computer World): "Election officials in Twigg and Hancock counties had early-morning difficulties programming the correct ballots into some of their systems. The encoders built into the balky systems "were still encoded for the primaries, and they hadn't been updated."
