Plenty Insane Diplomacy

I'm not sure what's more insane.

Trying to appoint a man who believes that "there is no such thing as the United Nations" (link) to be the US Ambassador of the U.N. or questioning the sanity of the leader of a country that may possess nuclear weapons that you're trying to convince to join armistice talks who has boycotted those talks for a year partly because the candidate for U.N. Ambassador who was once a part of those talks called that leader a "tyrannical dictator" (link).

We have an insane Administration, don't we. An insane President who believes that God appointed him, rather than two State Secretaries. An insane Vice President who believes that the head of the Democratic Party is "over the top" then makes a crack about his mother not loving him (link).

I guess Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice fits right in.

On MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews", Rice was asked if she thought North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was insane (the show was taped Monday night but will air on Tuesday's show). She replied, "I don't know. I've never met the man" (link...hat tip to The Raw Story). The Reuters article notes that it's "a remark that could anger Pyongyang's unpredictable ruler."

If Clinton's theme song was Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" then Bush's theme should be Cypress Hill's "Insane In The Brain" (lyrics):

Insane in the membrane
Insane in the brain!
Insane in the membrane
Insane in the brain!

Insane in the membrane
Plenty insane
Got no brain!
Insane in the membrane
Insane in the brain!
